With the release of Microsoft Windows 8 a few weeks ago, new information has come out regarding the relationship of the operating system giant and it's not-so-feared enemy, Linux. Valve has announced that work has begun on porting the popular gaming platform, Steam, to Linux.
I felt like ranting today, so after reading the digest from one of my favorite mailing lists (the lubuntu-users list), I decided on a topic.
The conversation was about the method of installing new software on the Lubuntu Linux distribution. A few users were suggesting that the Lubuntu Software Center (LSC) be replaced; there were suggestions for another software center, and one ramble about how software centers don't work anyway. I like this one.
