The trick is to not be offended or hurt all the time. Being offended is a choice. It may be such an ingrained habit that you don't choose concsiously, but you still choose. Choose to not be offended.
Having your feelings hurt is something that you can't really avoid, but you can deal with it in a positive way. Don't be offended, and don't hold a grudge. Also do not be quick to negatively judge the person who hurt you. There may be difficult circumstances in his lie, or maybe, as was mentioned above, he only wished the best for you.
Also, try analyzing why your feelings are hurt. I've found, after some deep introspection, that I have false or unrealistic expectations. Just remember, as you aren't aware of others' difficulties and troubles, they aren't aware of all of yours.
The point of this is don't be offended. Choose to be kind, happy, and positive, instead of vindictive, grumpy, and negative.
